Many markets make for sore fingers!

It has been a very busy week preparing for two Christmas markets that we were doing this weekend. Very sore little fingers but well worth it as both Penshurst Farmers Market and The Pantiles Christmas market were very well attended. The natural wreaths with oranges, interesting funghi and pheasant feathers, along with the luxurious hydrangea, chillies and pink peppercorn wreaths all proved very popular.

We will be back at The Pantiles Christmas market on the weekend of the 17th and 18th December, better get making some more wreaths!

Why wait till Christmas

A hint of Christmas for Eridge Park Farm Shop this week as they had a special evening to release their Christmas pricelist. Lots of tasty cheese and cakes were nibbled and local wines consumed. I created a couple of wreaths that can be either for the door or table, but why wait till Christmas when they also make rather lovely autumn door wreaths.

Ok, perhaps this wreath should wait till Christmas though.

Signs of Autumn

With things starting to wind down in the cutting garden, we escaped for a lovely weeks holiday, but more on that later in the week.
Even though we seem to have brought the sunshine back with us, the flowers are very much showing signs of autumn.

Holiday snaps to follow - once i've sorted through the pics, got a little carried away!!

Travelling bouquets

Home grown country flowers for a London wedding.
The bride loved the dark scabious, so these were mixed with sweet peas, astrantia, nigella, sedum, ammi, veronica and poppy heads with lots of senecio, sage, eucalyptus and oregano.

The bridesmaids had dainty posies of sweet peas, astrantia, nigella, small david austin roses and ammi, all mixed with senecio, sage and oregano.

All boxed up and ready for their travels with the bride and groom.

Penshurst Farmers Market

Another month, another market.
How time flies.

Last market for this growing season will be the 3rd September.
Hope to see you there.

Penshurst Farmers Market 6th August

It's that time again.
We will be at Penshurst Farmers Market this Saturday with a selection of scented bouquets, jam jars and scented plants.

Sweet peas are still putting on a fine show, as are all the various varieties of dill.
Dahlias are starting to burst in to flower on a daily basis, particularly loving these beautiful velvety dark ones above.

Beautifully formed scabious in pale blues, white and dark burgundy, as well as plenty of stunning rich blue and mauve larkspur.

Wedding season

A wedding from a couple of weeks ago, that I have only just had a chance to upload the pics.

The bride loved velvety red roses but the bridesmaids were wearing raspberry, so for her bouquet I combined black bacarra roses with metalina roses and dark pink astrantia.

As always, must dash, enjoy the sunshine!

Dahlias - it's just the beginning

The dahlia season has started, so far there are beautiful white, lilac and cerise with plenty more on the way. Perfect with the stunning dark scabious that are flowering like crazy.

Sunshine on a rainy day

Today's bride is very lucky, it rained . . . a lot and apparently that is supposed to be good luck!
Thankfully the bridesmaids were wearing soft yellow to brighten a grey day and carried bouquets of sweet peas, scabious, feverfew and spray roses.

The bride had a combination of roses, spray roses, sweet peas, scabious, feverfew and lysimachia all combined with senecio and herbs and a touch of grass to give it a more country feel.
And all but the roses home grown.
